    Default I need some commiseration...

Yesterday morning I slipped and fell down the stairs in our flat. Happened before, but this time I managed to break my little toe.

To add insult to injury my wife and I will go on our vacation on Friday. I am still able to travel and walk, however, extended walks or hiking might become a bit difficult.

As wallowing in self-pity is too boring I am coming here to officially ask for commiseration from the org

What sucks about breaking toes is that there's not really much available in the way of treatment.

My dad broke the two biggest ones on his right foot by dropping a can of lager on them. We took him to the hospital, but they basically said 'there's nothing we can do, just let them heal'.

That sounds pretty much like the highly sophisticated treatment I got...

Well at least I got a nice x-ray

Well, at least you have a valid excuse to stay inside and play games, drink, and ask, repeatedly, for sympathy sex.

That's got to be worth something.

Seconded. Oh, except for the sympathy sex, please!... Typical problem of hen-pecked North American males who don't understand that asking for it ('Gee, honey, I was wondering?...) is the greatest sex-killer in the world. Give that gorgeous Hausfrau a good seeing to, Clegane, that should take your mind off your toe. Hals- und Beinbruch!

Unlucky Ser, but as others have said, use the sympathy vote for all you can, you'll be laughing!

Thanks for helping me to cheer up, guys

Actually the foot is recovering much faster than anticipated, so I am optimistic regarding the vacation.

However, I might keep the hobbling and grimacing in pain occasionally when I need some pampering

My Uncle has massive problems with his feet.

He recently had an bone graft and now he can't walk on it for 6 months at least.
