    Default Negotiating Tip

When negotiating the sale of trade rights, map information and alliances, start with a high amount first (say 25,000 D). The AI will offer a single payment ranging from 800 to sometimes 4,000 D or more. Resubmit an offer that is 2,000 D lower than your starting offer... and continue doing so until the AI suggests regular tribute, like 2,550 D for two turns. This shows you how much the faction can pay per turn, in this case, 2,550 D. Make a final submission of 2,550 or the tribute amount but make it for ten turns... I haven't tried higher. Most of the time you will get the final submission, which in this case, was higher than the first amount requested -- 25,550 D.

Isn't this rather tedious and time consuming, having to scroll thru the numbers at each negotiating point? Hmmm..., I haven't tried to, but can you type in the numbers?

Seems like it'd take forever starting at 25,000 and lowering by 2,000 increments. Probably works, but too tedius for me.

Not to brag, but I'm most likely, the richest guy out of any other RTW player. Yea it has taken out many aspects of the Campaign, but had I not had the cash, I'd lost long ago. Even with the cash, I was loseing the war forever, and this weekdend, at last suddenly broke out of the shell, and in four hours more than quadruppled my Empire! My exact cash is not known to me, but when I start a new Campagin, I'll take out the cash, and play regular, but will have to pick a faction that isnt attacked by four people after the first turn literally.

But the idea of my cash, is like, 19,963,000,000. Somewhere in that range. I didnt care about the money aspect of the game at the start, just getting the cities & armies, to get the gyst of the game down. After I win this Campaign, I'll start a new one, different faction, and regular cash.

I must be doing something wrong. I rarely seem to be able to get the AI to buy my maps. I get the "we're not interested" routine. I usually leave the offer blank to start, in order to see if they are interested. Any tips for me?

Haven't had any success with selling maps, I usually give them as gifts to butter them up or include in negotiations to seal the deal. When proposing an alliance, offer map info along with the alliance offer, especially if you are also demanding something. And read Tamur's guide, if you haven't already, as it is superb.

What faction are you playing as that you need 10 billion dinarii??? Even the poorest ones can be managed, you just need to spend some time. *Mumbles about what I could do with 10 billion dinarii, mostly involving bribing entire continents* Jeez...

You do realise that that figure is 20 billion nearly!

How the hell did you get so much? That implies that each city was earning like 1,000,000 Dn profit each turn since there are not too many cities and only a limited number of turns.

You must have modded the game someway.

unfortunately anything over 500,000 and your govenors start to get bad vices real quick (ie quicker than usual).

it`s unfortunate that the only way to stop this from happening is to spend, spend, spend!

the problem is: the AI is coded to be a sucker for map information/aliances/trade rights... if one sends out diplomats in all possible directions at the beginning of the game, it is possible to stall AI's development sucking out your neighboring factions' cash for the map deals. this is great to jump start your own economy. the downside is though: the AI is underdeveloped and the game gets "easy" aka "boring"... :)
