Thread: Saving & Using Screenshots -Help please.

Default Saving & Using Screenshots -Help please.

I'm currently writing up my current campaign and posting in the Throne Room Forum. I want to include screenshots of the Campaign map and the Battles.
I've used the Print screen facility from the keyboard to save several screenshots. Problem is I can't use them. It keeps asking me for a application to open them whenever I want to check them out.

    1. Am I doing something wrong or am i missing a step somewhere?

    2. Is there another way, perhaps using another graphics program/application to make use of what are really great screenshots?

    3. How do I inlude these screenshots in my posts.

Any help would be appreciated very much as I am totally stuck with this issue.

    Many Thanks.

I gave you an upload link in your campaign thread.

So, are you able to see .tga's in your folder Rome/tga ?.
If yes, good - otherwise your key isn't working. Had mine changed to F12 before it worked.
Now that you have them you can use free programs like "Irfanview" (free) or "ACDSee" (older versions free?). Do a google search to find them. Photoshop can open them, too.
When posting, press the "insert image" button and enter your imageshack-link.
Don't use quick post, you won't have the button.
    Hope this helps.

Here is how I do screenshots:
strg print will put a screenshot in you PC-memory.
Alt-tab out and paste in any graphik-program (even paint will do).
Remember that that way you can only make one screenshot at a time.
Save it, tab back to rome, rinse and repeat.

That's exactly how I do it as well.

Vanya needs to go to the menu, here Vanya will find "Camera-Options", "Graphic-options", "Sound-Options" and "Game-Options". Under Game options Vanya will find all the functions (3-4 pages) and their allocated keys. Vanya now has to go to the last page and look for the screenshot entry which is "PrintScreen" by default. Vanya clicks on it and shouts "GAH!" at the F12-key until it presses itself down. Now the new key is assigned. Vanya saves this. When Vanya shouts at the key again in-game for the first time, the game will create a new folder Rome/tga and store the .tga's there.

I think it has to do with the video card and antialiasing settings, but I can't remember now. I haven't experienced it personally, but I have read about it on the official forums.

I personally use a free program called Grab clip save. I don't use the print screen button. You can get the program here

It will save and output the file to any type of picture format. Tga,BMP,JPEG, etc.

That's due to your AA in your video card. Use the program i posted a few links up and it should work. I'm using it with AA on and I get no black screens. However, each card is different so your success might not be as good as mine.

Out of curiousity, what program do you need to open a .tga? I have windows 98, and currently my only graphics program is Paint.

Btw Indylavi, your link doesn't work for me. I'd love to download this program though to save my Rome screens.

    Try this page
    http://www.boumchalak.net/

There are two, one is called Grab capture screen but that is the pay version.

Grab Clip Save should be right under that. If that link still doesn't work try this page

If that doesn't work PM me your Email and I'll email it to you. It's only like 800kb in size
