Default Temple of Zeus Effect Sputtering

I've got the Temple of Zeus, had it for a couple dozen years. It was really nice having that + to public order.

Then all of a sudden several of my cities went into revolt, when I looked the Zeus effect wasn't there. That problem wasn't too bad, I dropped the tax rate and brought them back into order. But, the cities I'm trying to grow into my military centers were already at low tax and there's nowhere for them to go lower.

Then the next turn, the Temple was running again.

What is it with the Temple of Zeus? Is it an intermitent effect? Is this some kind of bug?

What about all the other wonders I've captured? Are their effects going to come and go with time?

    This is a real pisser.

I had the almost identical experience but with those wonders in egypt, sometimes public order was fine and all of a sudden it went down the drain for exactly one turn and after that it was ok again..
I am not sure its the wonders causing this cause i have been told the wonder effects only stand for a certain ammount of time.Gonna have to look into my city details more next time when i obtain a wonder.

Actually I was wondering the same. Once I capture a wonder, it seems that its effect only lasts a few turns (less than 10). At least it's no longer displayed (on the settlement scroll) after this period, maybe it still provides bonuses.

When you first capture a wonder, you will see a 20% "Wonder" bonus to public order. This degrades by 5% every turn until it's gone. This happens with all of the wonders. If you capture a new wonder, it will go back to 20% again, then degrade over the next 4 turns. R3dD0g, did you take another wonder in the meantime?

The Statue of Zeus wonder is currently bugged. It is supposed to give a permanent 20% bonus to public order, but it isn't doing that. It's only giving the temporary bonus. I've never noticed it's bonus reappear in any of my games, which is why I'm wondering if you had captured another wonder to trigger a new bonus.

Each time you capture a new wonder, a new bonus appears (+20 loyalty) and then it decreases as you explained in your post...

    ...
Yes, I did. I took the Collosus of Rhodes, around the time my Public Order wonder modifiers reappeared in my city screens.

Boy, I hope they get that Zeus modifier made permanent in the patch. I've been planning on using that dude to keep my Town Watch expenses down. If it keeps coming and going, I'll have to greatly increase the Town Watch.

What about the Mausoleum? Is that thing bugged too? I'm depending on it for building my Imperial class buildings.

Aren't all the Wonder bonuses supposed to be permanent?
