STW mod New Name?

I know it is extremely bold to be suggesting a name for something I had no part in the creation of. I guess I will have to claim “game lovers privilege” on this one, and lean on the mercy of those who are actually doing the work.

Anyway, thinking that in order to develop a community to play this mod, that it might be better if it had a more substantial “brand” image than “STW mod”, which can be confusing to the uninitiated (played on MTW WE/MI etc.). I started looking for a name to better define the period other than Sengoku Jidai, which covers too much time in my opinion (already taken by the RTW moders anyway). What I found was a 32 year period “within” the Sengoku Jidai, with possibility the richest of all Japanese ancient history.

The Azuchi-Momoyama period (1568-1600), was a short epoch of intense change named after the magnificent castles of two of its principal figures, respectively Oda Nobunaga and Toyotomi Hideyoshi.

Unfortunately Azuchi-Momoyama is quite a mouthful, and lacks the punch of Sengoku Jidai. But it could be used as an explanatory period subtitle to a name that might really describe the individual multiplayers in the moded game. In single play the goal was to become Shogun, but in multiplayer each of us takes on the role of the general of an army, or Taisho.

Not too oddly enough, Taisho: Total War was an original name of Shogun: Total War (there may have been more names). So at least it has some authentication behind it.

Something to think about anyway.
