Well i started playing the Egyptians, once in awhile i started to get suitable husbands for the young ladies in the family. Then i had 42 old with lack of skills, i refuse it. And a year later she wanted to marry 48 old coot with hardly any skills.

I feels sorry for her had to check on her profile, good lord shes only 12 yrs little lady want to play queenie. May God what have i done!

This is odd, but dunno how you ppls feel about this. I dont think 12yrs girl will be suitable with mid/late 40's old man.

I guess Eqyptians are strange after all, hell i dont know much about Egyptians. This is disturbing news about Egyptian Faction.

It's not just the Egyptians. In my Julii campaign, I got many proposal from 80 years old men! in order to marry a daughter half their age...

Just under 16 is too young and fragile for the ladies. Funny how Egyptians had their ways in sex life. Yeah may sounds like paradise but after you realise what you have done, it would really be shocking and disturbing the Peace.

Anyway dynastic marriages often involved one or both partners being what would today seem too young. This is because they were political unions more than anything. Girls especially would have been pawns in the game.

Way of the world my friends. Women were little more than breeders for the "big" men. Marry them young and their breeding potential was higher. If you "snuffed it" before they were thirty, you had at least left your legacy and had your fun in the process.

Secondly, why have moral doubt about the marrying age of fictional charachters, even on grounds of principal, when you are willing to send 1000s of men to be slaughtered to forward your conquring ambitions? At the time, marrying for love wasn't really a reality. So when you say "she wanted to marry", that's not the case at all. Your faction leader likely spotted someone he wanted to make an alliance with, or someone he thought would be a good addition to the family. The girl wouldn't be consulted at all. She'd be told "By the way, you are marrying this guy tomorrow".

Harsh by today's standards, sure, but considered normal for the time period.

Well i prefer to say, they wanted to marry so they can strengthen their bloodlines. For example, if she see superman of course she will do anything to gain his support and she will be happy and having little super boys later on. Like securities so on.

Of course it can lead up-side down for lack of disciples and skills.

So RTW got this one entirely correct.

What's the big deal in having your 12 year old daughter get married? She probably has a life expectancy of only 30 or 40 anyhow.
