Caution: Cheat Mod

Hey

I recently played a session of multiplayer in which I got my arse handed to me. I felt this was strange, as it happened very quickly when the actual hand to hand fighting insued.
What characterized this battle was the following:
My archers being utterly incapable of seriously harming the enemies.
My army fleeing fast in battle; even with berserkers (Who are regularly not capable of fleeing when in berserkermode) and with the flanks secure.

I know for a fact that this has happened to me once, due to the host telling me he used a cheat. I suspect another occasion for involving cheats as well.

Both times the enemy were roman and hosting, as well as being 1v1.

This all happened in Barbarian Invasion.

Not sure if this is a known cheat, but now YOU know in any case.

Hm thats odd as its not possible to edit the unit file without going incompatible with other players. And the only thing that could be done would be to edit unitcosts (which was possible in early RTW days) to allow the cheater to buy more upgrades or more expensive units.

If you encounter the guy again you can ask him how he is cheating

Other than that plz save replays of suspicious battles and also check the logfiles.
