I am new to Total Rome - Can I eventually conquer Brittania or am I contained to Italy and the Rome?

You can conquer Brittania, and even Ireland if your heart so desires. Its the same faction, though.

Well, there are Irish rebels there (not actually called Irish, though), but they will probably get conquered by the Britons before you get to them.
