    Default The Rock Music Topic

this is my attempt to get us running with the times of rock music, if they release a new album and we find out then we inform others, if we find new young bands that are worth listening to then we inform others.
    thanks,
    dessa
    P.S.
    could the moderators sticky this...
    please
it would really help keep up with the times of rock music and spread the news of good new talent.
    thanks,
    dessa

Man, I couldn't stomach the Mars Volta. It sounded like they where making things up as they went along.

That being said I believe prog rock has a purpose....it's just not elitism. As a musician I LOVE to hear talent and flashy riffs, and different time sigs and the like but man when you have to TAKE NOTES to listen to the darn song......not my cup of tea.

perfect prog album you ask? Lateralus -Tool, I say.

    Artist: Citizen Cope
    Album: The Clarence Greenwood recordings

He's funkier and more soulful than Jack Johnson, G. Love, or Everlast. Some of the songs here would have been better if the delivery was less sugary (eg. Pablo Picasso). Warning: potential playback glitch due to copyright protection in the cd (yes, I'm talking about normal playback in cd player, dvd, or car stereo).

Best songs: Son's Gonna Rise, Penitentiary, Pablo Picasso, Bullet and a Target.

There's also a separate thread called "Recommend Music!" Post your albums there too (any genre).
