    Cool Flipper Lives

Too bad you can't buy them a beer. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6565810/?GT1=5809

Well, perhaps killing them as mentioned in that other thread is wrong then.

Danged ungrateful anyway. Better hope they don't start communicating with their brothers in Japan.

Maybe they don't think like we do. Maybe they know what goes down elsewhere and just don't behave as humans would in such a situation. Maybe they are more advanced than us in some ways. One can hope ... so many possibilities, and we know so little, really.

The article didn't specify that these dolphin had young with them, and rounding up the humans along with their own young would be more understandable/straightforward behavior. Protecting an alien species with no apparent benefit to their own survival is amazing.

this sort of occurrence has happened many times over the years. the 'rounding up' is a somewhat new twist, however. dont recall ever hearing one quite like that before.

Hold the beer, Hosakawa. Dolphins are known to corral other species into "bait balls" for sharks and birds...

Lol ... "don't eat us, master shark, take these luvley sushi sacrifices instead ...wheeee, heee, heeee ... eheheheheheheheeh."

(Ok maybe my written imitation of dolphin cackles needs work).

To shark: "Aw dude ... just say NO! Believe me, you DON'T want to eat these landlubbers--they taste like dookey."

Quite a different picture in my head now than the "angels in dolphin form" image I had just a bit ago . Heh, so many possibilities, and we just don't know.

Tuna Yum Yum!!!!! and those extras add a little flavour. Well a couple of years ago there were females being harassed by a male dolphin, can't remember how much dmage he did but they closed the beach down because he would take the woman underwater and hump them. So they closed the beach down for a bit. They are considered inteligent and dolphins have taken people to shore or is that a myth? Makes ya wonder now all they need is some vocal chords and then we cn truly understand them.
When a fox kills your chickens, do you kill the pigs for seeing what happened? No you go out and hunt the fox.
