Yes the game based on the movie, I do not have high hopes for the movie myself (reading some reviews and colin farrel in a blonde wig is.... silly) but i'll still watch it, but this game is interesting, it uses the cossacks 2 engine and they already have a demo released for it that lets you play part of the campaign and also play Persia or Macedonia in skirmish (2 out of the 4 nations). I tried the demo, and so far it seems like a very promising game, the animations also are interesting, especially the cavalry units, wich have very realistic horse animations, unlike the old cossacks engine, the horses animations are more fluid and natural and not stiff or robotic, but anyways aside from that the game also offers up to 64,000 units to duke it out, with 8000 onscreen at once wich sounds pretty interesting.

I played for a little while but then it maade my pc crash :-(

It feels like a AoE yet again.

Its not bad, but I expect Cossacks 2 will be better, as the release of Alexander will iron out the problems with the engine
