    I was thinking of making a purchase, but what specs does the new one take, as my computer is getting old and creaky.

    1gig with 192mb ram and only a 16meg graphics card. I suspect thats where i will fall down.

    You are short of the spec on RAM and graphics card. Your processor speed is right at the minimum.
