I've not played MTW for a while due to RTW but when I did it was mainly as the English. My main target was Flanders both for the cash and trade as well as creating a land bridge to my provinces on the continent. Once Flanders was secure I would take the island of Norway, Sweden and Denmark for their trade and iron.
