    Hello:

You may go to "game options" before starting a new campaign. There you can change your unit size. Small is 20, Medium 40, Large 80 and Huge 160. If you have already started a new campaign then it will stick through that unit size throughout, though.

I have a question about this also. It regards tactics and strategies. If you have a large or huge unit size does it make a difference. I know that a clear difference is the size of them and the size of the battles, but overall does it make any difference in tactics? I my self like to use huge and large because I like big units but is it worth it?

I have heard that larger unit size prefers human players because there will be less resources (i.e. population availalbe) for armies, so the AI towns gets depleted faster.

So far I have finished campaigns on normal & large, and started a little bit of huge (my system can't really handle huge well). I find larger unit size favors lower difficulty & fast units on the battlefield. In larger unit size, each unit now takes longer to turn & kill, making flanking-routing combo slower to happen. A lower difficulty makes 1 vs. 1 easy, while fast units can still perform flankings faster than opponents. Maybe I have used too much HA recently, so I try to run my hastati like HA...

The one major thing that kills me with large/huge is the arrows. Normal arrows are fine on my system (only 1 year old) but put my on D with a castle to defend and a battering ram coming at my door and those fire arrows slow down my system like a heart attack. Im hoping that Santa will be nice enough to get me a Radion 9800 pro for X-mas :)

I've got a 9800 Pro and it isn't happy with the flaming arrows either (but it is paired with an XP2400 and 266 FSB, so it is a dated system) The flamers are slow, but the big problem is some sort of memory leak associated with them. They slow down subsequent battles as well.
    Rome Total War, it's not a game, it's a do-it-yourself project.

    oh, hehe thanks everyone

i was actualyl looking through unit size before, and i came upon it and i thought it meant the actual size of them, like if they'll be drawn small or large, idk if i accidently clicked it to change or not though =X
