Thread: siege equipment

    Default siege equipment

not sure if iu'm having problems if this is just me or what... but i've spoken to a couple of other people who swear this doesn't happen to them so...

with wooden walls, i can only use rams... no problems
with stone walls, i can use all the siege equipment, again no problems.
bu with large stone walls, i cannot use ladders, and epic stone walls i cannot use ladders or sap points.

on the custom battles, these items are simply not available to be added to my army (and yes, the troops are able to use them, its legionary cohorts)
in the campaign, the items are available, you select them, wait a year, go to asault, the battle screen says you have say, 7 ladders... you go to the battle map, and they aren't there.

now personally, ladders are my fav siege equipment. rams and towers keep getting destroyed, and towers seem to be bugged anyway, troops bunch up inside, and never come out properly. i've been left too often with no siege equipment left and had to withdraw. besides, i'd prefer to capture the settlement intact.

so is this just me, or does everyone have limited equipment for large and epic walls. and if so, why are we able to select it if we cannot use it?

This is a known bug. Ladders can supposedly only be used on vanilla walls, but the game still allows you to build them when sieging large or epic stone-walled cities. I suppose that's reasonable, since for a ladder to reach the top of a Large Stone Wall, it would have to be too long for effective use.

I'm not sure about sap points, but I'm guessing the same thing applies to them and Epic Stone Walls.

I assumed this thread would be about Centurion Marcus saying "Siege equipment..." and telling you how to use it as a battle tip every single time you assault a city, and being unable to turn that particular tip off. Some might say, "turn off the tips", but it irks me nonetheless.

    Sorry for the distraction...
