Is it possible to unlock rebels?

After playing a fair few factions, it occurred to me that it would be interesting to be able to control the rebel armies and cities scattered across the map. I can see quite a few reasons why this isn't possible, but just wondering if anyone has tried it?

the game will crash if you try to play rebels. so yes, you can unlock them, but no, you can't play them.

Actually it is possible to play rebels. I played it for about 20 turns and it didn't crash.

There are some strange/interesting stuff though:

-In the beginning you are at war with every other faction.
-You can build diplomats, but they are completely useless, because they don´t have any diplomacy options in diplomacy screen. So you will allways be at war with everybody else.
-Allmost every turn you have new random armies appearing around the world.



-At start you don't have any family members. No faction leader or heir. Later as rebel armies appier around the map you will gain some family members from rebel armies with generals and family member adoptions are also possible.
-These new family members dont't show up in family tree and can't be made faction leader or heir.



-You are losing money very fast, so you can't build anything.

Cheers for the reply Silvanus, I'll give it a crack. Presumably just need to move rebels to the playable factions.....

oops no rebels listed, how did you unlock them?

Go to www.twcenter.net, download Rome total realism mod 3 and a mod called new_province in the mods section, download these two and follow the steps to install them and you can play as the rebels.
you need RTR 3 to install New_province mod.

It works on my game without crashing so it should work.
