CD/DVD Emulator Software Problem

Hi there,



Ever since installing the 1.1 patch, the game will no longer start. The initial small RTW screen appears, then I get an error which says 'You have CD\DVD Emulator Software running. Please disable this and restart the game.'

I am not aware of any such files running on my PC and have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling - it still does the same thing every time.
Does anyone have any idea as to what might vbe causing this ?

Any help much appreciated.

I persume its a bought copy your having, it could be programs like Deamon Tools or Alcohol 100% that are causing it..

Yes it is a 100% genuine UK shop-purchased copy but have noticed a very serious circular scratch all around CD1 - don't know if that has any bearing here.

I have never even heard of Alcohol 100% or Daemon Tools so as far as I know they aren't present on my system.

I have just found a firmware update and will try that and report back.

Yippee !! Success !!

Updating the firmware on my DVD-RW has fixed the problem - the game now starts fine again.

Hurrah !!
