I would suggest heavy auxiliary sword, and auxiliary slingers to be utilized as they seem historically feasible in this time period.

Also Property Free legions in the Pre-Marian era sound good too.

Arsonists/Rioters should appear as rebel and brigand units for the Romans.

Romans are not boring, it's just that you have cavalry on the brain and the idea of a people relying on infantry alone strikes you as heresy.

We'll work on some new Roman units when the other factions are done. This started as a barbarian mod, dammit.

Here here... and I for one won't be too happy if we start including ahistorical "Palestinian Clubmen", "Hamas Suicidals", "Al Qaeda Fanatics" or any such tripe.

The clubmen are historical, as are fanatics in the area now known as palestine.

    Ever heard of the Sicarii?

Yup , it's true ; they could be found in nightclubs throughout Palistine during the period tanked up on lager and chemicals of dubious origin spoiling for a barney !

He has a good point about the slingers . Try getting them like the Archer Auxillia only using ordinary slings {making staff slings and trying to somehow doctor a way for the skeleton animation to fit would be a huge undertaking I think} . Both an early slinger {like the RTR mods created with the Funditores} and a late one are needed and should both preceed the Roman Archer types in the tech tree and build faster {the Roman archer typres should take twice as long to simulate the limited use Rome made of non-mercenary archery during the period of the game} ; perhaps be cheaper too .

Roman Archers are not in the EB MOD anymore. Rome never used archers in any significant way until later in the Imperial period. And then they were always auxilia hired from eastern provinces.

Show me excerpts from historians of that age, like Polybius or Livy, and I'll consider it.

Yes, heard of the Sicarii..but NOT Palestinian clubmen. Palestine didn't exist in this period. If you want to call something Palestinian, you may as well add Austrian , Dutch, Turkish, Jordanian, Algerian, Moroccan, Iraqi, United Arab Emirates ...etc etc ad infinitum to unit titles.

Prom: found a pic of Republican Centurion, he's the guy in red. So you going to redo all the Republican tunics in white?
