Does the difficulty level affect diplomacy? I'm playing a game as the Germans, and I started off gaining an alliance with the Gauls and Britons, but they both betrayed me, and Dacia attacked me, and Rome won't give me the time of day. I'm playing on Very Hard, and I'm wondering if my early alliances might have held up better or a different difficulty setting. I'm currently being attacked from all sides, and with Germania being spread out as it is (and I conquered a lot of Rebel provinces early) it's near impossible to get an army in every area that I'm being attacked. Egads!
