    Default Research: Modifying Cultures

I am starting a research thread based on cultures.

A few questions that need answers:

    1. Is it possible to change the culture of a faction?

    2. Is it possible for not all Roman factions to have the same culture?

    3. Is it possible for non-Roman factions to have the Roman culture?

    4. Are cultures of particular factions hard-coded?

    5. If it is possible to change cultures, which file is it done in?

    6. Can different factions within a culture get different types of walls and governor houses?

Use this thread for general research into culture modification please.

Important topic, but I have looked through almost if not all text files and I didn't come across an entry that says which faction has which culture. Since it is hardcoded which factions there are it is most probably hardcoded what culture they have.

Since we might be able to add new factions after the patch, it will probably also be possible to change the cultures.

Ergo, it is not possible to mod, lets say Armenia into another Roman faction (for instance the Gracchi) and have them included in the senate etc.?

    wondering,

No, and that is definite no. Even if it was possible to crack the code and tell the engine that Armenia has the roman culture you will have the interface problem of 4 roman faction while it can only display 3 in the Senate floor, etc.

Ah I feared as much! Such a pity there are too many limitations.

    Thanks very much DJ,
