is there no devouted "Imagawa" player, who has scripted his thoughts? ..with such a nice heir?

I haven't seen much written about Imagawa. I think most like having a bonus to combat troops, and as Imagawa's bonus is for ninja and shinobi, I think many do not choose him.

I play Warlord Edition (WE), and it includes a campaign that starts in 1580, with Tokugawa Ieyasu commanding. He is 6-star in this scenario, but starts with only three provinces, and they're split apart geographically, with his richest one (Hizen) isolated from the other two (Mikkawa and Totomi). I find it to be a fun and challenging campaign. Much depends on a strong opening and taking quick advantage of opportunities when they present themselves.

I haven't played Imagawa much in 1.12 or any of the other campaigns in WE. If you end up getting WE and try Tokugawa in the 1580 campaign, I can share some ideas about that.

The one thing I do remember about playing Imagawa is that it usually helps to consolidate your forces rather than operate on two separate fronts. I remember withdrawing from central Japan (Giving up Totomi, Mikkawa, etc.) and taking out Shimazu and Mori before working my way back to the rest. Taking out Shimazu quickly is very easy if you pull all of your troops into your holdings on Kyushu. Just crank out a few bonus archers in Totomi before you make the jump (don't wait too long though).
