    I think we have done the bit about films being disappointing compared to the book already!
    We all learn from experience. Unfortunately we don't all learn as much as we should.

    Well yes, most likley it will be a dissapointment but, why not give it a chance?

    You are right, Lazul. I will go and see it too, but I expect it will be disappointing, especially with Douglas Adams no longer with us to stop really silly things happening. I remember seeing him interviewed a few years ago and he explained about at movie producer whot told him that the ultimate answer to life, the universe and everything being 42 "didn't make sense" and would have to be taken out!

    The BBC recently made a fourth season of the radio series, based on the later books (Life, the Universe and Everything IIRC). They used the original cast (at least those who were still alive) and I was dreading it in a way because I thought it would be poor, but it was actually quite good; maybe the film will be too.

    Well, if tthey skip the 42 part... that kinda kills the whole story almost... 42 is the most famous part of the books.
