Thread: unit size?

  1. #1

    Default unit size?

You can set the unit size to small, large, huge ect.. is this a graphical option only? Meaning that the only way you will have thousands of troops is to set in in the video option and it is not up to how many troops you build.

Also, in battle mode you can't control more units that the numbers of unit cards are shown on screen?

    Hi djsway

    My thoughts:

The number of troops per unit is determined by the unit size which you can either set on the options or mod as some people have done.

You can have as many units as your population and economy will allow on the strategic map.

On the battle screen you can only control a maximum of 20 units, the rest being controlled by the AI.

    Hope this helps.

There are some gameplay differences. Having larger units not only means that training each unit is a bigger drain on a city's population, which might have adverse effects on city growth, but also in the way they maneuvre on the battle map. Larger units seem to respond more slowly to orders, simply because a unit of 80 men doesn't have the tactical mobility as a unit of 40. That bigger unit is going to swing more slowly on the march, in battle, when flanking, etc.
