Default Modding: Survival of the Fittest

An issue that bothers me now is seeing a lot of mods being "announced" but that the producers seem to lack any seriousness at all. So this thread is just a warning to them AND all others who start a mod.

As I (and probably many of you) have seen in MTW and other games, mods have been anounced but never made. The mods which lack the real passion of modding that is required always seem to fall the fastest. I have now seen many mods which have risen, and then fallen quite fast. We all saw what happened to the METW mod, although actually I'm not sure quite what went wrong there. Anyway, I now only trust a select few of the mods that I have seen to actually look like they are going through to completion. This includes my very own mod, CTW, but only because I have faith in myself.

So please, think before you start a mod. Otherwise you're just gonna see your hopes fall to boredom, lack of commitment and lack of patience (which most modders fall to). Don't fall into the pit of delay like so many others which I care not to mention.

    Thanks,
    SR

Not quite sure why this didn't go under the mod ethics thread, but it's hard to disagree with...
