    1-Sekigahara (Very important battle)
2-Shinano (Big turning point in their ways of battle)
3-The Kawanakajima's I can only think of three really big relevant battles I'm afraid

    Second Sekigahara (Ieyasu v Mitsunari)
    Okehamza (nobunaga v yoshimoto
    4th Kawanikajima (Uesugi v Takeda)
    Shinano
Cant remember name (nobunaga/ieyasu v takeda) - takeda cav. destroyed by arque's.

    1. Ichi-no-Tani (Yoshitsune gets all the glory)
    2. Dan no Ura (naval battles are important)
    3. Nagashino (the Takeda curse)
    4. Sekigahara (patience pays off)
    5. Hara Castle (religious intolerance)

These were the first five that came into mind for me...

    1. NAGASHINO = battle where the power of arquebus was truly shown and it revolutionised all old tactics.
    Oda Nobunaga vs Takeda Katsuyori

    2. YAMAKAZI (correct sp?) = In my opinion after this battle Hideyoshi was seen as the true military leader of Japan after the death of Nobunaga.
Hideyoshi vs Akechi Mitsuhide (who murdered Nobunaga)

    3. SEKIGAHARA = final victory for Tokugawa Ieyasu.

    4. 4th KAWANAKAJIMA = the bloodiest of all the Kawanakajima fights between Uesugi Kenshin and Takeda Shingen.

    5. ANEGAWA = this was a great battle since the great 3 unifiers participated in one battle.
