My brother and I had a lot of fun with Legos. We had the Space legos and would build all sorts of things. I used to make cyborgs out of the Legomen by replacing their heads with computer consoles. My dad did not understand that behavior. Later, I discovered something that took our Lego playing to the next level: a 3-foot rubber band that came from a mattress package. We connected this to a board and made a powerful launcher that would send tiny, improvised vehicles hurtling towards more complicated larger ones. The explosions were impressive. Pieces of the ships would be sent all over the basement, along with the individual parts of the Legomen that we placed inside the ships. I had fun re-creating the events of the accident and seeing how the pieces landed where they did. To this day I've yet to see another play set that has focused on NTSB-style crash investigation.
