1-1: Wrong. Falasha are Ethiopian Jews; Ethiopians are not a semitic people. The fact that their imperial dynasty trace their legendary roots to Solomon is irrelevant.
2-2: Not a new issue. I'm not an expert on anthropolgy, genetics or anything around that but it just sounds irrational to me. It may be firmly argued that the Ashkenazi are not of semitic descent but rather converted slavics and germanics etc. under Khazar dominion. However, the Khazar core were a Turk people and, typically as in almost every state lead by Turks, were only the "core" but the minority population-wise.
The Karaite Jews are more reasonably said to have descended from the Khazars. But still I tend to think that they are descendants of the Khazar Empire, not the Turk core.
