I like playing as Zhou Yu on DW3. hes my fav.
I will give my life in the defense of Lord Sun Quan!
Maybe you can try other three kingdoms games instead of DW3 and get a different view of Zhou Yu.
Zho Yu isnt real strong though, i like stronger people like Guan Yu, Gan Ning, Fu Xi(who is the guy that drags the BIG SWORD!,Ziahoa Yuan, Duan WEi, Zhange Fei of Yan ect.
I can't contribute much to this thread because I haven't read this epic. But the thread reminded me to get the books, and the link in one of the early posts helped me choose which version to buy. I chose the four-volume box set of the Moss Roberts translation. I started last week. I will watch a video of it when I've finished.
I have seen a portion of the story on video. I borrowed it from a Chinese family. It was animated and was translated from Japanese. I couldn't follow the story, due to my lack of Chinese language ability, so I gave up.

Don't look down on yourself Tachikaze, sometimes it will be better if you try to read the novel in english at this website if you haven't already:
www.threekingdoms.com
Although the translation aren't exact the same meaning with the chinese, but its very close.
But the video is more interactive, whereas with the reading you will take ages.
DO they have the movie in English?
Fu Xi was supositivly a good general (ive never seen him play a part in any major battles) I know he carrys (drags) around a Big Sword. He looks in his 20's (but they made Zhou Yun look like 30 when was 70!)
he has black, boal like hair, and looks kinda tough. (we all know Gan Ning could EASILY;"Give him cause to fear[Lu BU]!!!!!")
Can somebody tell me all about Zhang Fei.
I liked Liu Bei because he was good hearted and alot of the people loved him but he sucked with stratigy and fighting, all his sucess was due to Zhuge Liang and his brothers. All he was good for was gaining surport but he did have good intencions.
I also like Cao Cao and I think he was a good fighter to but listened to wise men and used great warriors. He used his brain.I just finished Chapter 11 at Threekingdoms.com and he has taken the rest of the yellow scarve territory.
I hated Lu Bu all he had to do was listen to his advisor [cant think of his name]and he would of defeated Cao Cao.
So can you get the Zhang Fei info. Thanks
Go to this site. There are a few errors but very good info in general
http://3kingdoms.net/shugen.htm
This site is still under construction.
Also, you can read the novel in English. It is a shortened version (less details).

Zhange Fei of Yan was a very strong man with a very bad temper (wanted to kill DOng Zhou, in like chap 3 of RTK.) He used his enormus dragon pike, called the Serpant Pike. He was outh brother of Lord Guan and Lord Lui Bei. Has great respect for Lui Bei, and climbed the ranks quickly. (going from foot-archer to one of the strongest generals of this period.
(skipping alot sry) When Lui Bei and his forces, and his people were running at Chang Ban, a scout sayd to the brothers that Cao Cao was in pursiut of there SLOW MOVING ESCOURT. He went out to Chang Ban (bridge) and said something like "I am Zange Fei of Yan, I will make you fear death." (And his voice and appearence scared away about 1mil of Lord Cao's men.
Allowin Lord Bei to escape via rescue ships send by a couple generals with like a militia.
I belive he also died Very Soon after Guan Yu did.
All for now, i hope it helped a little, it was all very common info.
One more thing for 2day, if Lui Bei didnt tell him not to kill Dong Zhou, then the whole Dong Zhou tyrancy (Hu Lu), would not have happned and many lifes would be sparred. And the history of China would have been changed forever; maybe.
Lui Bei, was a kind, virtous person. Maybe too much so.
