Default Migration to another part of Europe...

Some guy on another RTW forum turned up with a neat idea. Playing Scythians, he decided that the original steppes are too poor for him. So he built 2 full stack armies and some boats. Then he moved all the stuff across the sea, landed on Sicilia and within the next couple of years he conquered all peninsula
Maybe not very according to the historical truth (the original Roam of People takes place in 4th century A.D.) but still funny
    I love her

    Yes, that is great.
I did that with the britons. I grabbed all my units and walked to italy. I captured Segesta and from then on I had to fight at least one full stack of either Juli, bruti, scipi, SPQR or gaul every turn. I couldn`t reinforce my initial army, because I had absolutely no money. The region around arretium was littered with heroic victory sings.
I was hanging by athread ar more than one occasion, but it was the most intense game I had so far.
Btw, when I had like 8 Provinces, and gaul was completely untouched I got the message that egypt was about to win the game. However, they seemed to be unable to reach the goal within the next 50 turns, so I still won.
My first attempt in that direction was to relocate spain to italy, but that didn`t work at all. Spains starting troops are no match for roman infantery.

In my next game, I will try to relocate either carthage or spain to egypt.

I have just done the unthinkable: I have relocated the seleucid empire to....*drum roll*...Ireland!!! The land of the leprechauns!! My entire faction had to spend 15 years on a boat though, sailing to ireland.

    ok, listen here:

Take a faction that needs to get high on its tech tho to get real great units (seluids, carthage, macedonia, etc.) units, and sail it to rodhes!
build up, capture crete after a while and build up 'til you got great armys and then, storm
greece and rome with your amazing armys! get greece fast as your armys are supposed to be so big that you cant support them more then like, mmmmm, lets say 5 turns.

One problem with that: Where do you get the money for this ambitious little scheme?

Let alone population when you've only got Rhodes and Crete as bases of operations.

I think the best migration faction are the Germans and you can do it right from the start, just collecting all your starting troops into a stack and marching on Mediolanium and setting up shop in Northern Italy.

I found the Jullii transferring to Egypt fun aswell though that took more preparation time before the big move.

By playing barbarians the way barbarians are supposed to be. Frequent pillaging/looting expeditions to the rich provinces of Greece and Asia will come up with enough money to support a huge army for a short time.

And then, when its time to leave home and begin the great invasion west, destroy all the buildings of your provinces - some more extra cash. There's no turning back now, you must succeed!
