How does the book relates to the way of life, is it about learning to live the right way with the use of various techniques?

Then clearly you haven't understood the 'DO' of Bushi. :P

Just like reading the fine lines in the contracts. Read between the lines and try to associate what the writer is trying to say.

"A Samurai must live and die as one. His sword is merely his tool. not his weapon to deliver his message. Samurai is skilled in many ways. Using the sword only means that he is not fit to be a Samurai worthy of his master."

It has everything to do with how one should/could/might live their lives in accordance with Bushido.

I believe the term you are after is Budo

    The determination and willpower...

you can never defeat a man who has studied budo well enough.
Upon the maxims on Lord Naoshige's Wall there is this "Matters of great concern should be treated lightly" MAster Ittei commented "Matters of small concern shoudl be treated seriously"

It is worth way more m8!!!!
The last issue has a fairly large article featuring the Head sensei of the dojo where I studied while in Japan! I was so thrilled to see his face and hear his words! I am very happy with it! It just doesn't come soon enough.
