One of the greatest players of all time and a class act off the field as well. You can't imagine many NFL players today setting up a shelter for the homeless in every city they play in AND paying for it themselves like Reggie did.

"I request permanent reassignment to the Gallic frontier. Nay, I demand reassignment. Perhaps it is improper to say so, but I refuse to fight against the Greeks or Macedonians any more. Give my command to another, for I cannot, I will not, lead an army into battle against a civilized nation so long as the Gauls survive. I am not the young man I once was, but I swear before Jupiter Optimus Maximus that I shall see a world without Gauls before I take my final breath."

To die from sleep apnea, a very treatable condition, what a waste.

Exactly how does one die of sleep apnea?

The first thing I thought of was Steroids, especially since some early media reports said it was a heart attack.

Some forms of sleep apnea cause one to stop breathing during sleep, sometimes hundreds of times a night. I read that they believe he also had a lung condition that kept that organ from absorbing/transfering oxygen properly, and combined with the sleep apnea caused him to go into cardiac arrest. http://msnbc.msn.com/id/6755927/
