Thread: What controls unit spacing?

    Default What controls unit spacing?

I am not an expert when it comes to modding... and I could use some help on this one!

If I were to, say, make a unit that was a bit smaller than the stock human size, and I wanted to make the formation more compact with the models closer together, how would I do this?

I had planned to 'scale down' or 'scale up' a stock model to create a larger or smaller skeleton framework but don't know how to adjust the spacing of the models within the unit. Do I just decrease the base unit size?

In theory, it should be possible to scale the models and still have them stick to the stock ani, ations, since proper skeletal animation is all about pivot points and degrees of movement but all that is a bit pointless if the unit spacings are fixed. Has anyone played about with this?

For unit spacing, look in the /data directory for the file export_descr_unit.txt
It will have the unit spacing parameters in both normal and loose formation.

For unit sizes, I do believe that descr_model_battle.txt should have that info.

    Cheers!
