Mongols are probably th only ones who didn't assimilate, but they payed for that hehe. By the way Mongols didn't come up with the name khan. It was used in Central Asia before Genghis Khan ever came to power and noone really knows who came up with it first.

The Mongols were also instrumental, in turning the beacon of civilization that was once Islam into the paranoid, backward culture it is today. Their massacres and ruination of Islamic nations set back that society perhaps half a millenium.

Afghanistan was a garden before they came. Those ancient tunnels in the mountains? An irrigation system built by the Persians that rivalled the Roman aqueducts, perhaps surpassed them, but we'll never know because the Mongols systematically destroyed it. Why don't we know more about it? Because the Mongols destroyed all the libraries and records too.

Lovely people in their day. Quite charming.

Probably more, but most Mongols converted to Islam after the empire fell and the Mongols were removed from China, so they almost destroyed The Muslim World and then helped increase the influence of Islam over a century later lol.

Its debatable if europe would have become the dominant force if the mongols had not tried to destroy islam[especially hulegu].As popular belief was that the muslim states were more advanced than there european counterparts in most subjects.
