If I may ask, what were CA planning with these???

I presume it's so that in night-time battles you can actually see real constellations and stars if you look up at the sky. I haven't looked to see if it's actually there or not though.

I haven't tested this in the full game, but I did test it a few dozen times or so in the demo. The game has some sort of rudimentary planetarium display. I changed times and dates in the demo files and watched the constellations change appropriately, as well as phases of the moon. It is a nice touch. Sadly, night battles are absent from the full game so we don't get to see this work in action.

What are you talking about? There are night battles in the full game.

He means in campaign, you never fight night battles.

Right, I haven't played any night battles in the hundreds I've played. I haven't experimented with it in custom. My experience with it is limited to setting dates and times for battles in the demo. It it is not in the SP campaign, then the effect is wasted.
