    Default Best Soccer/Football Game?

I am going to be buying soccer game and am in need of guidance. I have an old "World Tour Soccer" game that was very fun, tho it is time to upgrade. From what I have heard Fifa has been surpassed, but what other ones are out ther? I know of Euro 2005 and thats about it. What are the top contenders? Cheers

Pro Evolution Soccer 4 is probably the best out there. It has realistic movement and shots, Players can be put off their shot by defenders around them and their is actually a morale system.

It is way better than that POS Fifa 2005 (Made by EA so abvoiusly it sucks )

I love playing this game against my Brother it is really so much fun.

EDIT: It got very high marks in the reviews.

    Amazon.co.uk Review
The finest football simulation series receives further refinements in Pro Evolution Soccer 4. The presence of an on-screen referee is perhaps the game's most obvious new feature. What's more, this twenty-third being on the pitch is more intelligent than his invisible predecessors: advantages are played more frequently and the fairness of decisions is improved. Another welcome new feature is that of player-specific special moves, whereby only certain gifted footballers will have outlandish tricks in their repertoire--very much in keeping with real life.

Although there was little room for improvement over Pro Evolution Soccer 3's supreme gameplay, Konami has seemingly found it. Dribbling has been given especial attention; the result is tighter control. Crosses, too, are now easier to perform exactly as desired. Also, penalty kicks and free kicks offer increased accuracy with their adoption of a new control system.

Some 136 club sides, including all 56 teams of the Spanish, Italian and Dutch leagues (these are officially licensed) are on offer in Pro Evolution Soccer 4, as well as 50-odd national teams. Typically, this new version of Pro Evolution is the most comprehensive to date--the new season in videogame football kicks off in spectacular fashion. --Jonti Davies

I also have to agree with Pro Evo 4.

The FIFA series have remained "stagnant" for the last years!!

Konami said that it was superior to Fifa,

EA responded that Fifa 2005 had better music.

I mean, WTF! You dont play a football game for the music

I have heard Winning 11 is good as well. Haven't played it thou, so I can't really say.

Just beware if you get a FIFA game, make sure you get 2003. It was the best in the series.

Strange, but true. Somehw they actually made 2004 and 2005 worse than 2003.

Pro Evolution 4 is the best football game available.

FIFA 2005 isn't absolutely terrible, its quite fun to play but in comparison to Pro Evo is it by far the weaker game.

Surely there isn't a better (non-management) football game than the inimitable Sensible World of Soccer?! Now that was a game...

Sadly no net play for me, I'd love it if we were able to set up an Org league for Pro Evo but alas.

I've lost interest in football games since FIFA 2007 (I think). They're way too repetitive for me, though I heard Football Manager is very well-regarded.
