I was trying to add a new unit to the game, Allied cohorts. I just wanted them to be weaker hastati, so I just newbed it mostly by copying the hastati stuff and adding 2 to the name. So I boot up my game and for the little icon in Custom battle, it wasn't Hastati like I wanted. Instead, It was a picture of a black (i.e. not right color) peasant. When I went to the actual game I saw the Hastati bodies (i.e. corect color and look in battle map.) I looked at the profile of the Allied Cohorts; all the text popped up right, but the picture was the profile pic of a peasant but in all black. What have I done to cause this? Do I need to create a new hastati pic and just call it Hastati2 and edit the models_battle (or whatever its called) to reflect the new pics?

You forgot:

data\ui\units\faction\#UnitName.tga
Unit icon. The # appears to be nessecary since you didn't refer to it elsewhere, but still it is used for official icons.
