Barocca's STWmod for VI, the latest unitstats and 26 converted STW maps has now been combined in one installer.

Samurai Wars works like an add-on for VI and gives you the chance to play the Shogun campaign as well as playing online battles that are close to original Shogun: Total War.

As the guns in MTW/VI are not good enough you have to change the projectile stats when playing the mod. That is done by a simple batfile that swaps the projectile stats. Always exit the game before swapping stats.

The batfile is included with the installer and can either be found on your desktop (shortcut called Samurai) or in the MTW/VI root folder (STWmod.bat) When running the statswapper you get the choice between default MTW/VI stats and STWmod stats. When stats have been changed you can start up the game and play. And of course use the statswapper for when you want to play original VI.

This installer is for those of you who doesnt already have the mod installed or cannot get it to work. When running the installer it should find the correct folder by itself. If you want to install it somewhere else you can browse to locate the MTW/VI root folder of your own choice. The root folder is normally named Medieval - Total War.

Samurai Wars installer - Download and just run the installer.

For those of you who already have the mod installed but just need the latest unit stats and/or mappack:

Samurai Wars unitstats 10b - Unzip into MTW/VI root folder.

STW mappack - Unzip into Battle/Maps folder

There might be some later additions to the campaign but as it is now the mod is fully functional. If you have any questions about how to install or how to use the statswapper you are welcome to post here or send a PM.

Just wanted to say that the Samurai Wars Installer is very easy to use. If you have been hesitant to do the double or triple download and install to get this mod, wait no more!

I picked up a little problem a few weeks ago, when a host dropped, the game crashed, and my computer froze. Ever since, every time I quit the game, it locked up, and I would have to reboot the system. Everything else was fine, so I decided to reinstall the game from scratch. By the time I finished with, the game, the patch, the expansion, and the expansion patch train of installs, I was very happy to see that we now have a one step installer for Samurai :)

To the development team, Yuuki, CBR, Krypta and Mitch.

Thanks for the installer, and for recreation the STW maps, and all of the hard work and many hours to polish this mod to perfection.

A Great Job!

Hmmm... if I have not the mod installed, do I need the full installer you mention but I cannot find? Or is it just enough to get the two (stat + maps) files linked in the first post to have the mod working?

Keep the good work :)

The installer will be made available again soon. Just need a few tweaks which we are looking at right now (yes always something to tweak heh). And it will have everything so you dont need the two other files. These files are only for people who has an older version.

The STWmod installer with the 07b stats is in my sig. You'll have to get the Samurai Wars 08b, and install that after installing STWmod. Unzip Samurai Wars 08b to a temp folder and copy everything in that folder to the main mtw/vi game folder. The STWmaps are in my sig as well. Unzip them to \battle\maps under the main game folder.
