cheers guys. last unit for the demon faction here, (ignore the rider for the moment as I've still got to do him) copper dragons. After this I'm going to spend a bit of time polishing the demon faction and doing other bits and bobs before starting on the Indian faction..

I agree. Hoggy should be working for CA in a well paid position. And a lot of the people over at Europa Barbarorum should be consulted on the contents of the next RTW expansion.

Been following the mod for some time now (since the "Blue Lotus"-thread was on two pages, I think), but the Copper Dragons, I think, are the most impressive units yet. The demon faction in Blue Lotus seems to be extremely cool, yesh.

I've just finished a bit of polishing on the demon units and am now starting on the Indian or Krishnapur faction. Here are the first unit, krishnapur peasants:

this is now my new favourite mod, replacing EB.

i had some Qs about that unit (can't remember what it's called or who it's for) the grass-spearmen or something like that, they looked like cheap levy/peasant spearmen covered in grass. now i don't know if you were already thinking of implementing this, but it'd be cool if they could hide (either anywhere or in grass etc) so that way they could spring traps on enemy cavalry. (i don't know how the line of site or distance to be spotted is handled for hiding troops) and this way, cheap spearmen could potentially take down heavy cavalry, of course they'd be a one-time sort of deal, as once they were exposed just about anyone could ride them down...

hmm, well, i don't know what code/command is used, but i believe peltasts and such have the hide in long grass. similarly, arcani have the hide anywhere. but it'd be pretty cool, i think 'hiding' should be taken advantage of more. wouldnt it be sweet/deadly if you were charging your cavalry home to the enemy and then some spears just stood up (seemingly) out of nowhere, right in front of you? chaos

hey hoggy i was looking back at the screenshots forum and it said to look in the Blue Lotus main thread for screenshots from before january 8th but it just says at most places edit- link temporarily removed or something like that... could you post the pics now or something?

I was thinking about it but its a fair amount of work and most of the units there have appeared in later screenshots. If i get a chance I'll go through and repost them. in the meantime:

everything looks great... i just want to say this and i dont mean it to disrespect the person making them. But those demon general cards... and the pics of the demon buildings and even the names for them really are not that original "the skull shrine" for example... or the port with the skull spider thing. They just kinda seem out of place compared with what hoggy has done.

Yes there was a rather debate about this earlier. Im interested to see what Sykotyk has done with the demons since then.

The spearmen look good but i think the the spearhead and plume are just too vibrant and should eb dulled down a bit. Or maybe thats just me. Good work regardless.
