hey, im new here, but i've been following this mod for awhile. gotta say im impressed.
i thought i could help abit. indian architecture is tricky, because most people base is off of the Taj Mahal. However, the Taj is only one type of many indian architecture. Here are some more common architectural types:
I don't know how to insert pictures, so i just hyperlinked them.
A nice type of tower for walls:
Tower on wall
Indian temples are always intricate. And they definately don't look like the Taj.

Ill try to get more later if u'd like.
euhm...Alokapareyetra (?) you need a password to see those![]()

Oh and Hoggy(and rest of the team), all your work is amazing, you guys have a smaller mod team than most others but you work 2-3 times as fast as mods with a much larger team *bows*.

That wall is simply stunning. I tip my hat off to thee, my good sir - and I don't tip my hat off all that easily for anyone.
Amazing job.

cheers guys, glad you like them.
Gertgregoor - These will be used by the Akagi and Zensen factions.
[cF]Adherbal - Just the one texture sadly at 512. Multiple texture export is still not supported as far as I know.
shifty157 - not sure really. i'll have to look into it.
AlokaParyetra - cheers for the reference. The main reason I'm focussing on the Moghul style is that the earlier temple style is really hard to build with the poly and texture restrictions, all those little statues!. I'm probably going to concentrate on the Red fort and Gwalior as reference for the Indian fortresses.
thx for awnsering!
btw: succes with those Idian buildings then!!!

go hoggy! each day you take a huge step forward in releasing it..... it will be sooooo cool to play this.... i can't wait!
Hoggy, i understand.
But, i would still like you to consider maybe a slightly different architecture for the indian buildings. Only because though there is alot of Mughal artwork in India, it is still not Indian. It is Mughal, which is different. The pictures I linked earlier were really extreme cases of architecture. Not all architecture is that complex.
A lot of the Indian units are wearing turbans. This is mostly representative of the Rajasthan empires. Their architecture is typical of the following pictures:
Castle
Castle
This one has some Mughal flavor to it
This one is probably too complex to create
Fort
This works well with the elephant theme
Fort
A nice castle wall
The architecture in Rajasthan is not too different from the Mughal architecture. But it is still distinctly Indian.
I don't want to be a drag, but i beg you to perhaps make the Indian architecture more Indian plz.
Hi
How is everyone holding out? Are you getting excited yet...I am ...only a couple of months or so to go ....It looks fantastic...plays even better... I can't wait till it is fully finished.
I thought I would up load some more buildings since it has been awhile from the last installment.
The buildings are all based on actual locations in china, korea, mongolia, tibet, India, Pakistan, etc...

Really nice stuff. I love the walls, however, the Greek flag sorta ruins it a bit. Nevertheless amazing work though.

Very nicely done sykotyk. And yes it has been quite a while since your last update. Your work is very good.
Great Stuff!
This applys to everything i just looked at in the last few pages..

Mm, now for the horrible criticism I always lay out. The two horn things on the tops of the buildings are great, but they usually face out, meaning that they would be parallel with the walls.
Um..something like this
At least that's what I think.
The more and more I look at yours though, the more it seems right. :Q

You are the absolute god of modding. Your work is flawless and artisticly superior to any known mod. My congratulations. I cant say that oriental fantasy-mythology attract me as much as Greek or Celtic-Norse but thanks to your work i may reconsider that.
One thing i like even more about you is that you are simple and share your brilliant work with all of us instead of creating elitistic circles.

Great screenshots, joined solely just so I can commend you on the great job you've been doing. Love the Koguryo Calvary, tho the Korean Spearman looks kind of weird. I know its supposed to be sort of mythical but were there really spears designed like that in those times?

Great looking walls, you might contact the guys from the Zhoun Gou or the three kindoms mod about sharing building models, as they are also doing at least the Oriental style buildings.
One Question though, it looks like you moddled the battlements on top of the stone wall, so how will siege equipment work?
Frankly it doesnt look like ladders or a siege tower (if you will include them in the mod) will be usable against these type of battlements.
Or it will look pretty strange as the attackers will have to jump down onto the walkway or have to move through the upper wall.
Keep up the great work though, I am very much looking foreward to play your mod some day.

I am terribly sorry for bringing this up, Dragoon, but I can't bear to read this. It has been proven that the myth of stirups was invented by westernophile historians; actually the stir ups have (and had) almost no effect on the lance impact, but rather allowed horse archers to be more accurate and agile. There are a few websites on the web that deal with this and have provided good proof by jousting exercises. Also I'm sure you'll find this been brought up earlier on the TW forums. One should keep in mind that there is no apparent reason to assume that the Macedonian shock cavalry weren't effective, not for the Parthian cataphracts, not for Carolingian knights; quite the opposite. I'm no Mongolian expert, but I think it's reasonable to assume that the reason they didn't use lances is the one you've stated literally (tactics) rather than it being impossible.IPose: As to the matter of lances, you are incorrect. Remember stir-ups weren't introduced in europe 'til 'round the 1100s (aprox. guess, no one is sure) so the mongols wouldn't have them til at least the 9th Century probably closer to the tenth maybe even eleventh century. Either way lances are only good for one charge and the light lances before stir-ups are barely effect as shock, much better as javilins. Considering the Mongols tactics swords were a necessity, i.e. the mongols didn't bother with lances because they just got in the way if you want to run through the unit or disengage quickly. However if you want to get technical if i'm not mistaken the mongol swords were much thinner like sabers, or rather much closer to a scimitar than a falchion.
