i like this last set

whereas before, the impression i got was 'blood-n-gore', this set evokes more 'nightmare', which i like more. not saying that approach is any more valid, just more my liking. the small pics are great too, b/c they don't seem to shiny, which was my only real complaint. and who/what is that last one.. it's pretty wicked.

I'll join in by saying, the new pictures are much better, and as already said, especially the buildings. But for the portraits, exept for the top one I think they are a bit too carnival, which is more crazy than gloomy and demonic. They have ofcourse made the right approach since they feel more asian.

At least now I understand why you felt the asian way of depicting demons is rosy, but that's not at all what I was reffering to. You can tone the colors down, make the backgrounds more dark and misty, and maybe make their features a bit more 'live', since they still look a lot like masks/statues and such.





This is how I imagine asian demonic creatures, and it's inspired mainly by the japanese wood-block prints i've seen. Perhaps it might inspire your future work. Keep it up.

This mod is astounding, but I have to say, that I too don't feel the demon portraits are really appropriate to it. They're fine in their own way but they're just not authentically oriental in the way that Hoggy has outlined so far. And their style is jarring when placed next to Hoggy's work. Surely some inspiration can be more directly drawn from athentic oriental art sources?
