these fish ?
In remembrance of our great Admin Tosa Inu, A tireless worker with the patience of a saint. As long as I live I will not forget you. Thank you for everything!
I used to have a pair of Jack Dempseys in a 55 gal. tank. One committed suicide by jumping out when my daughter left the top open. The other died of old age. I also used to have pirahnas. I bought 5 silver-dollar sized ones and were they ever cute when that little. Feeding time was a real show for friends and relatives. Cleaning the tank was a chore because they are such messy eaters, used to freak out my wife & daughter when I'd put my hands in the tank to clean it, but they never bit me even when they got big enough to, heck they were scared and hid in the rocks. They are gone now too. Maybe I'll set up the tank again with non-predatory fish, it is lots of fun.

I love African Cichlids. Many years ago I managed a pet shop and we had those and other verieties of South American Cichlids. The African's are the most colorful of all Cichlids. The love a high PH and an occasional brine snack. I wish that i had set up a tank with these guys years ago, but I just didn't have a big enough tank or money was short. I'll probably set up a brack tank when we move into our house after I get out of the Air Force in a couple of months.
A little advice for any African cichlid owners; when intorducing a new fish to your tank, rearrange the tank. It will stress the established fish at the same time the new fish is. This will also break down the territories established by your old fish so they don't kill the new guy.
Right now, I have a thirty gallon with a 2 ryunkins, a red head oranda, and a fancy tail. i love my goldfish, I'm looking for a nice pearlscale to finish off this tank.
RIP Tosa
