    anyone read this superb factual account(written through a translated diary) of a frankish knights experiences on the first crusade, it is by stephen j. rivelle and well worth a read if interested in that period.

    Sounds cool. Is it more like his everyday life (got up, serviced my armour, ate breakfast), or his outlook on the Crusade (we marched against the filthy dogs today...)?

    Read it,and it's a dam fine book,but I'd be a little sceptical about the factual account bit,as that's an old historical novel Writers trick.
    Great book all the same,very grim.
    That's it.
