    Default Ancient maps

Is there a place somewhere that has high resolution maps of the ancient world. Different region or an overall map or even better if both. But they should be of good quality, so they would be printable. Please help, I know you people have maps

Try this site http://iam.classics.unc.edu/map/map_room.html Ar7. I just found it myself and haven't had the time to examine it yet, but it appears promising.

Here is a link I've stumbled onto before: http://www.lib.utexas.edu/maps/map_s...s.html#mideast
If you click on the "Images of early maps on the web" under the title "Featured" at the top of the page, it looks like that will take you in the direction you want to go.

He fell for it Tito - they never read the small print in the font colour the same as the background... Now he has to do all the work to find the good maps!

Eh, just kidding Ar7, but if you do happen to find a gold mine of good maps, I'm sure some of our patrons would appreciate a link or two.

Can you be more specific on what kind of map you are looking for...hemisphere/continent, country, regional, city/town, etc? when you say "buy", is the "buy" for a hires map and they only display a small, lowres picture?

Well I am mostly interested in high resolution maps of the ancient world. So it is maps of the Med mostly, but also modern Iran and Europe. These should portrait the most important towns of the period as well as borders of different countries at different periods of time. But until this day I have only been only able to find sites where they ask money for either real life maps to be sent by mail or they ask money to download maps.
