Default New 3D Civil War wargame out this week

I stumbled across a new game this week that looks interesting. It is called "The Battle of Bull Run" developed by the 2 man team of MadMinute.
It should show up in stores this week for a cost of $20.

"Bull Run" is a realtime 3D tactical wargame of the first battle of Bull Run. It is definitely a real wargame and looks great.

Here is the website for the game:

Here is an interesting AAR for the game:

This one could be good and you can't beat the price at $20.

It does look good doesn't it!

I was bored and just did a search and stumbled across it.

The command/courier system looks very intriguing.

And best of all, it should be in EB or gamestop this week!! What timing!!

Wow, for a "garage" game, it looks really cool. It looks like it will have some good strategic depth to it. Perhaps the battles will feel slightly more like Sid Meier's "Gettysburg" than a Total War game; the graphics elements, while effective, will not necessarily give the emersive feel of more modern epic strategy games. It looks as if opposing lines of soldiers and artillery will be able to fire at each other for quite some time without either side giving up (or incurring tons of casualties); I just hope there will be room for quick, decisive movements as well. In the videos, infantry moved pretty slowly, and while this makes the battles seem more realistic, it could also make them feel slow unless cavalry can move faster. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see any cavalry action in the videos.

I'm looking forward to it, but I still hope they release a demo eventually.

This game is MadMinutes first release. For a first release, I am impressed. I like their attention to historical accuracy. I have high hopes we may be hearing from them for awhile down the line.

Unfortunately, there hasn't been any publicity on the game. At the last minute, they were able to get a publisher and get the game into stores. I just hope it doesn't die due to lack of publicity.

I noticed that too about the seemingly low casualty rate from firefights, but the scale is 10:1 so maybe thats part of it. Still 10:1 scale is really good though. I like how you can be either an Army commander or Division commander, and I like how you map out your strategy, and I like the looks of the command/courier system. Wish it was mp, but it really looks well done. Seems worth checking out for 20 bucks. Looks well done, moreso than a lot of the big name games. I will probably give it a try.

This game looks perfect for multi-player. Unfortunately it isn't included in Bull Run.

The developers stated,"Multiplayer is still definately in the plans. Not for this version of the game though." By version, he means Bull Run. We won't see it till the next game at best.

I have been watching the development of this game for a while. It was called TC1861 for a while but now has developed into 'History Channel: Take Command Civil War.' The game has been published by you guessed it Activision.

As of the moment I have no release date for a None US version.

It costs $19.99 for the game, and then an extra $30 to ship to the UK.
When my copy arrives I will let you know what I think.

I read that it was being released in Sweden. I don't know if it might be available elsewhere in Europe. But if it is in Sweden, I would think it would be other places as well.
