    Default Weaponbonus applied?

Can't create threads in Ludus, so I'm pretty much forced to post here (not that there seems to be much going on at Ludus).

Anyway, is the weaponbonus, that goes beyond +3 in total, actually applied? For instance I have a Pantheon of Artemis which gives +5 to missiles and a Foundry, so we have a pretty hefty bonus in all. But I have not heard about people not getting the correct values (seems to stop at +3).
I have all the time thought that the gold weapon and armour was merely a graphical limit, but the bonus kept on rising without it. That makes sense, as it would seem rather odd to make a temple that had a +5 bonus to something while it can't be used fully.

I don't know about in the campaign, but in custom I can add experience plus max out armour/weapons. The unit then shows to have incredibly high stats. So I think it would be applied in campaign. Then again, I didn't actually do a battle test to prove that the extra over +3 was actually changing kill rate.
    Rome Total War, it's not a game, it's a do-it-yourself project.

Unfortunately, you don't seem to get the full bonus. Playing as Macedon, I noticed that archers trained in Larissa (lv4 temple of Artemis) had exactly the same stats as those trained in Athens (lv3 temple of Artemis).

Of course, the bonus might still be counted, despite the stats displayed (it's rather hard to notice a +1 difference to attack), but I doubt it.

I would think that the foundry gives a bonus on the melee-stat(s) and not on the missile stat? Or does it work on both?! (Not that a higher attack melee-stat for archers would help in this bugged pre-1.2-era...)

Well, a Foundry DOES add a bonus to missiles, it might not be added at that time (armoury perhaps) as I have never really bothered with that late a game (seems to stop right when everything goes up high). I just wanted to make sure that the best possible bonus was added.

If the game doesn't show any difference in stats (the archers in Athens don't have experience right?) then I can't see that they are different. Oh, how I hope this has been noticed before at CA. It would be a shame if so many temples would not work correctly.

I had posted about this issue earlier since I suspected from the start (of RTW), the bonuses were capped at +3 as was the case in MTW. My experience so far: they really are capped...

In my experience they are capped. I guess the logic behind it being that by building shrines to Artemisyou don't have to build blacksmith buildings to improve missile stats. I don't say I like it, just that this is probably the logic behind it. Besides, you can't get golden upgrades by blacksmith buildings alone anyway.

I love playing the Macedonians and I too have been striken by the fact that the bonuses from Artemis don't tack up with the ones from the foundry. Maybe the idea is that if you build the temple you should not build the foundry. And I too think they are caped.
