this may sound like a noob question but does the mod affect Multiplayer?

I think it changes all the original files for RTW and makes the game not compatible with MP, I may be wrong though. But you can always run two versions on your PC, one modded and the other one original.

First of all, get RTR 5.0. That's what I did.

Now to have both you have to install the game twice(which takes a lot of space) in two different locations. Then you mod one of them and so you can have both. Then you can mod the other one as well and then install the game again. You can have as many mods as you want as long as you have enough space.

ok i tried but i only got the choice to uninstall, please explain more in depth as i aint got a clue. computer noob here

ok ive got 2 rome total wars on my pc now. however when i download and install rtr 5.0 it says "some installation files are corrupt" it then asks me to download again and reinstall, ive done this about 5 times now with the exact same result. What am i doing wrong?
