how do I bribe any enemy unit so I get to keep it? It seems that I can only get them to disband. But I want them. Do I have to bribe a city to get the units within? Is there anyway to get units outside of cities?

You keep the units you can reqruit in your cities, as I understand.

Now lets see if I can get this right. If you bribe a unit that is your culture, then you get to keep it, if it is of different culture, then it disbands.

there are a few types of units that all cultures can have i think

damn. so as a Roman there is no way I can pick up a few units of cataphract archers from the armenians?

If you can train it you can keep it. If its a mercenary unit, you sometimes keep it. Other than that it disbands.
When a fox kills your chickens, do you kill the pigs for seeing what happened? No you go out and hunt the fox.
