    Default Time Commanders (new series)

I have just finished watching the new Time Commanders and was very impressed, they got al the best bits in there:

    Areh
the actual battle and what happened
and they added a sense of urgency to it.

    All in all,
    bloody good.

Yes, better than the first series. I think largely because they gave the contestants a chance to learn the game (a) by having an opening skirmish; (b) by pausing the battle a couple of times. As well as evening up the contest, it also gave the viewer a chance to get acclimatised too and savour the action.

Also, the battle chosen was fascinating - Germans ambushing a Roman column - and the team (some church ministers) were good - very "commanding" general and also decent tactics at the end (hold the phalanx and flank it).

Yeah it was all good wasn't it

He would have made a fine ocifer in the army: he really knwe what he wanted and the battered those who didn't do it exactly like he wanted.

I liked that, much better organised than the last series, although, I am not too sure about Mr Nusebachers Hair...

    Were they Chaplains ?

They all seemed a bit more 'beefy' than your avergae parish priest

Apparently the next episode is The Battle of Stamford Bridge......

THEY'VE MODDED IT TO MEDIEVAL ARMIES !
Look what these bastards have done to Wales. They've taken our coal, our water, our steel. They buy our homes and live in them for a fortnight every year. What have they given us? Absolutely nothing. We've been exploited, raped, controlled and punished by the English — and that's who you are playing this afternoon Phil Bennett's pre 1977 Rugby match speech

YAY!!! Just managed to catch this (phew) after the fanfare of advertisements for it that they have been showing on the BBC - NOT!
Excellent choice of contestants, you hear Vicars and you think mild mannered guys that will get bullied into submission; but after they took a beating in the skirmish, they learnt their lesson and did well in the battle. Boy, that commander (more forceful of the two generals) reminded me of my rev. at school who was an ex-ghurka. The swearing that he used was educational!!!
Anyway, not sure about the host, Hammond (?), who seems too jolly, too out of his depth and too-hyped up. Would have prefered his co-host from Top Gear, Jeremy Clarkson, but perhaps two cynical wise-cracking regulars would be too much!
We all know that NUS is the star of the show, even with his new rock-star hairstyle. Hope he comes up with some more of his classics!

    Looking forward to TV again.
