Well, we are moving along slowly... but we really need someone who is confident with skinning. There are a lot of models that need it right now, and it would be nice to have some good ideas to help make units that are common to most factions still unique.

Here is a WIP on Tyrell footmen,

Turnleft if I can do anything for you, I can skin better than I can model, and I owe you one.

We have been able to find a lot of really good artwork for inspiration, an artist named Jason Engles has some awesome work...

    Heed the Call

So we should be able to work with some of this... here is some work towards getting a Knight unit to look similar to those in the Vanguard picture posted above (with a pose )

Please continue with this mod. It would be a shame t0o let all your work go to waste. And since AFFC is finished and should ship in September/October interest should definately pick up then.

    any reason why this died?

    lots of reference material here:

one of the german covers to book two is an exact ripoff of a book about ten years older by Kenneth Flint - The Champions of the Sidhe. I mean EXACT.
Some of the foreign publishers must use stock art or something...

All looks good so far, but I think the metals need to look shinier, and put some fold shadows in the cloth parts. I'll offer my services if this thing is still ongoing...

I'd say the "Art of ..." book and the collectible card game would be a must for any creators of this mod, I'd buy them if it were possible...

this is the artist who did the art for the ccg:

believe me they have enough studie material but that's not the problem.

just like other mods not enough modlers and skinners. it's a shame..

    Question Re: Westeros Total War

It doesn't look like there's going to be an ASOIAF mod for RTW, sadly, but what about MTW2? It strikes me that many of the units and locations would be very similar to those in ASOIAF, which could mean potentially a lot less work, particularly in the modelling department.

    Hi

Im a huge fan of the books. I think they are the best after LOTR and maybe in some points (like characters) are better.

Its a huge thing to turn them to a mod. I would suggest that it would be better to gather material and wait mtw2. Its gonna save you from alot trouble as the westeros world is a high medieval era.

yeah thats actually the plan at this point, there was just way too much stuff to do and not enough team members

hey hoccalugee, if you're still around when medieval comes out and wanna help with reskinning some models, that would be cool, check out this site http://www.stratcommandcenter.com/fo...?showforum=107
and talk to brutus, he's kinda runnin the show now, but there are no plans to continue with the rome mod, we're gonna sit back and wait for medieval

Have you tried posting on the Ransboard or other ASOIAF-oriented sites? I imagine you have, but if you haven't it'll probably worth a try.

it will not be a project for rome, that is definite

we decided it would be far easier and take waaaay less time if we waited for medieval 2, so hopefully once that comes out the mod will begin again, thats the plan at least, but i cannot say for certain.

The setting of George R. R. Martin's series of novels named "A Song of Ice and Fire".

This would be a good modification, but I'm afraid it would be more suited for a game like Crusader Kings rather than MTWII, unless each region is separated into mini-regions controlled by various houses who owe fealty to the Main House (Stark, Lannister, Baratheon etc...) if you don't have the feudal system in such a mod, it would take a lot away from the feel of the game.
