I'm playing Carthage at the moment, I declared war on the Scipii in the first turn and as soon as I took Messana I swung south and seized Syracuse.

As a result of this I believe (maybe there may have been something else one of the AI players did), for some reason the Roman factions have been at war with me and ONLY me for over 20 years now (or 40 turns). What this means is that the Romans have been completely limited to Italy and all the other factions are getting along without them and its really interesting.

The war between the Greeks and the Macedonians has been going on for ages now, the Macedonians have taken Cyrene and took Appolonia early stopping the Brutii from getting it.

The Gauls have lost Numantia to me but other than that they've kept all their original lands and have taken Segestica and Salona in addition.

Spain is about to be wiped out once I take Scallabis but what is really great is that once I've finished them and the Numidians and then take out the Romans, (I'm at war with the Romans, Spanish, Gauls, Numidia and Greece) I'll have a Greek dominated world to take on, something I've never encountered before in the game let alone as the Carthaginians.

The Egyptians meanwhile are giving the Seleucids trouble, but for some reason they lost Sidon early on to rebellion and they still haven't retaken it, I may even be able to ally with the Seleucids and save them and so be able to fight them later on which would be great, I'm itching for an elephant vs elephant fight:D

There are just seven Roman cities for me to take, and my top of the line soldiers are finally available to build which means I can assault Italy soon.

This has just been a really rewarding game, and unlike when I play the Romans these days I don't have to worry about my main units being artificially overpowered and giving me an unfair advantage in fact its the opposite

Have any of you ever had a game that has just gone totally strange from unforseen or unintended consequences?

(For instance if you deliberatly funded another faction so that they'd become powerful it doesn't count )

Also please give details but try not to give us all your life story
